Quality and Looks this is a great Kendama
1. QUALITY. The body on the Tribute Kendama is well built . The main structure is very smooth except the cups; they could use more sanding but for the most part they are fine. The spike is s very durable. Unlike most spikes that just flatten and chip in this one is very durable and still fine after the few weeks we've had it. The ball looks very nice but sadly the paint chips, unlike other Kendamas that I found did not. The string on the tribute is very nice though there are little threads that come off the side of the string, though that is not something I would worry about.2.LOOKS. The tribute Kendama has a really nice look. One of my favourite parts is the natural wood look. This Kendama also has a nice shiny look (at least when you first get it). It also has an awesome Tribute logo on the front and the Kendama USA logo on the back. Both of the logos are carved on either side in a nice dark brown wooden colour.3.OVERALL. Overall this Kendama is worth all the money you spend on it. The Tribute is something you can rely on and not have to worry about it breaking. A great thing about this Kendama is that to replace the string the big cup and small cup do not come off; the handle and the cups are securely glued.

Watch out for slivers
I gave this item 2 stars because I think some of the issues I have with it are just hazards of the toy itself. For instance, we bought this Kendama about 5 months ago and we have had to replace the string three times. There is only one replacement that came with it so the replacement string we bought somewhere else also went kaput. I am not sure if it is the design on the ball itself as far as a weight issue or if this is just something you have to put up with if you want to play with the toy. Also the wood isn't finished and sealed. The second time we replaced the string my husband had to sand down the grip and put Thompson Wood Sealer on it. My daughter kept getting slivers. It is a really fun toy and my 10 year old absolutely loves it (which is the only reason why it got 2 stars).

Beware of which seller you purchase from.
Beware which seller you choose to buy your Kendama. Only KendamaUSA seller is genuine. I had to return my first purchase from another seller which doesn't include the stickers, string and extra bead. Also the quality isn't as good, the bottom part seems to be glued on instead of one piece of wood. Please see my photos on the genuine Kendama from KendamaUSA.

Great Product
I really appreciated reading the reviews before I bought my sons their Kendamas so... thought I would return the favor! Really sturdy product and the paint doesnt chip and the string doesn't break like so many Ive seen. It comes with backup string and fun stickers for the kids to keep also. LOVE that this is not electronic and that my children actually like it! It is worth paying more to have a good quality product that will last.
