Very flat, very white paint
This is amazing paint! I feel like I'm going to a echo a few of the other reviews but I have found many of the other comments to be spot on.Although someone said there was some kind of metallic sparkle to this paint--- which actually got me a little worried I wouldn't like it-- but I'm finding it to be very flat matte. There's definitely no sparkle. It is VERY white though.Things I found true are, this is a very sticky paint! I didn't use a drop cloth and painted an entire fence with only about 2 drips. The wood was thirsty for paint and it soaked it up. One other commenter mentioned how they felt the paint really became part of the wood and I will second that. The fence I used this on absorbed it like a sponge. Also coverage is pretty darn good. We had replaced a few boards with dark colored wood instead and the rest of the fence was a blanched white wood. I painted them side by side and still can't tell after only 1 coat which ones were darker. Pretty astonishing.Cleanup is as easy as with a water based paint. Just soap and water.I'll also add I didn't follow the directions at all as far as prepping the wood. Cleaning it, whatever. I didn't have enough time to clean the fence before painting it. I basically brushed it with a broom and started in. The paint was good at hiding little imperfections and didn't spread around dirt when I went over it. Just covered it, and that was that. The fence looks marvelous. Durability is still a question--- it actually doesn't look like it's very durable, or cleanable, but time will tell. I know all the other claims are true so I will say that probably is too.Kudos to Kilz for making this amazing paint! Makes this non painter want to find more things to paint.

Excellent Fence Paint BUT Needs a Primer
I painted over 800 yards of outside fencing that will be exposed to the harsh winters of Maine with the Kilz white oil-latex paint and there are a few things you should know if you're going to use this paint. The first is, as others have pointed out, this doesn't cover well. You definitly need a good primer if your painting over another color. I know the Kilz brand well and love their producs so I went with the Kilz 2 all-purpose primer and that covered up any dark wood colors or other issues once I applied the fence paint. WIthout a primer it will take ample coats and that means three or more coats to cover any dark stains, and even then expect bleeding. So definitly use the primer if you can get your hands on it. I bought the Kilz primer for $18 at Home Depot and that is an excellent price (I see it on Amazon for $62 here! Yikes).Secondly is the finish look and feel. It leaves a very "chaulky" flat surface finish meaning It will get dirty quickly if lots of hands are going to be on it or if dirt splashes up to it and that's something you want to avoid then this might not be the right paint for you. Get something with a satin or glossy finish to avoid your paint having lasting dirt marks.I would also recommend you not use a roller as it won't put on a thick coat. I used a chaulk brush because of the amount of paint it allowed me to put on.Lastly, I also would like to note the price. I bought my first two white gallons of fence paint on Amazon for $35, then it went up to $39 and now its down to $29, so shop around. Kilz is an excellent paint.Aside from those issues I loved working with the paint as it doesn't run or drip after application. It self-levels very well.

Great coverage and easy to use
Update in late 2022: Paint still looks absolutely amazing. No peeling anywhere, even in my rainy part of the midwest.Original: Nice, thick paint that goes on easily and covers well. I will use it for any other outdoor project needing white paint. I seriously can’t understand why anyone would waste time with another brand or formulation. My 2-story roofed deck has seen better days and I’m trying to squeeze a few more years out of it before having to replace the entire thing. (Previous owners did ZERO maintenance.) I used this paint on its existing wood posts and spindles after scrubbing with a deck cleaning solution. I also painted new pressure-treated spindles and guardrails I installed. The pop of fresh white my house now has is just beautiful. I don’t know how the paint will hold up over time yet, but I’ll try to remember to add to this review periodically.

Makes my windows look white and new.
I read previous reviews about this paint and so far it looks good. Nice bright white color makes my 30+ year old windows look new again. It is easy to apply and does not easily drip like other paints that might be watered down too much. After applying 2 semi-thin coats the color is very even and the wood looks good.I did scrape and sand the wood blowing off debris before painting.Very easy to clean up my brush and paint cup with just water.

Good, thick paint that seems durable.
I can't speak to the longterm durability or effectiveness of this paint because I just used it, but I can give some details about it. First, it's not a one-coat coverage paint. Not unless you like repainting every year and replacing wood. However, it is good, thick paint and if you do at least two coats it should last quite a while. I painted beehives with it, and it took two coats for full coverage on the sides and a little extra on the joints where there was end grain (which is to be expected as end grain absorbs a lot of paint). The paint dries very flat/matte with absolutely no sheen whatsoever, and it's a fairly fast drying paint. Overall it seems to be a good hard paint that doesn't scratch or chip easily, and I'm pretty sure it'll last and protect my beehives for quite some time.
