I bought this for my son’s pants, because he works on his knees a lot. I used a longer than average needle(3 in.) because my son’s pants are double fabricated at the knees. With the perforated holes on the pads, it made gliding the needle easy. Took awhile, but it worked out. So far, after 9 days, it seems to be holding out. My son likes it because he can crawl around on his knees without worries of ripping his pants at the knees. Satisfied with i5 so far.

These are suede which IMHO is the best material for elbow patches. The pre-punched holes make hand stitching fast and easy. Iron on patches on a sweater are very temporary at best. For sweater elbow patches these are the way to go.

I purchased these patches for my husbands sweatshirt. I was going to throw the sweatshirt out do to holes in the elbows. It was a military sweatshirt and he loved it so much. I didn’t iron the patches on. I sewed them on and it worked out beautifully. He was so surprised and happy.

I am a patching novice, and I used these before with good results. I am getting more. My method is to first outline where the patches go using an old piece of soap (or a tailor's chalk). Then I put the patch in place and fasten it down with two, quick stiches each at top, bottom, left, right. Then I go round the whole perimeter using the holes. If any pros have additional advice, they can add it somewhere.

These seem fine and I appreciate the holes around the edges to facilitate even sewing. However, they are a bit small compared to most elbow patches.

This patch was not the solution for a regularly worn dress shirt. After five months, it is threadbare and unsightly. See the photo. Maybe it would be fine for something worn only occasionally, but not good for something worn regularly.

These gave new life to a sweater after I'd worn holes in the elbows!

I bought these patches for a crocheted sweater that I made. They were so soft and great quality. Perfect size for the elbows on a man’s sweater. Will definitely be buying again.
