So far, so great
Love the look of this filter jug, which is shaped more like a traditional jug shape.Having had the filter countdown break on my last 2 Brita, thought it was time to try a mechanical countdown. Also likely to be more accurate, given it's based on actual number of times lid is opened rather than just by week. We've been using it for just over a week now, & it's hardly moved at all...so maybe the claim that filters can last 2 months will turn out to be true. The filters are easy to fit & do seem to filter more quickly. Water tastes absolutely the same as my Brita-filtered water did - water quality is just as I would hope. The huge capacity is great - but it does mean it's quite heavy, so anyone struggling to lift anything a bit heavier might need to consider that. For us, it's brilliant - attractive, easy to use, great-tasting water & brilliant value

First class and a reasonable price
It looks great and it has a very practical lid with a flap for filling without the need to remove the entire lid. A first class product and a reasonable price too.

So far, so good
Update: I’ve been reading that filter jugs must be kept in the fridge in order to prevent bacteria and mould, so I’ve now lowered my top shelf in the fridge to fit the jug in.I’ve only had the AQUAPHOR Onyx jug for a short while, but so far, I can say that my filtered tap water tastes much nicer, and it’s good to know that the swimming pool smell coming out of my tap isn’t going into my water glass. The shape of the jug is much prettier than the usual jugs, but too big to keep in my fridge. I don’t mind, since I usually prefer my water not ice cold, and for the summer months I can pour it into a carafe that fits in my fridge. I didn’t find the instruction leaflet to be detailed enough, not even saying how much water can be poured into the jug, and the illustrations showing it filled to below the bottom of the cartridge holder, which is only around one litre, which would be crazy considering the jug is described as a 4-litre jug. All the photos on Amazon also show the water level below the filter cartridge holder. But thankfully, the Amazon description says that the capacity is just over 2 litres, so I fill the container twice. And after discovering that the counter for telling you when to replace the filter is based on the number of times the lid is raised, I’m now leaving the lid raised while waiting for the first litre to filter through in order to refill it again. Before I did that, the counter had moved from 100% to 80% after just several days. My main concern when purchasing this jug was ease of cleaning, because the last time I bought a filter jug several years ago, mould had formed in the crevices, which made me not to want to use plastic filter jugs anymore. The lid section is quite fiddly and very tight for removing and re-fitting for cleaning, so not very easy to lift it off to wash in the crevices without concern of cracking or breaking it. On the other hand, the lid design is very good, with the large flip top for filling being very easy to use, and the hinged cover on the spout works great for easy pouring. The filters claim to last for 200 litres, so for me, it should last for 100 days in theory, but when I asked the question to the community as to how long it lasts, most said they replace it after one month. So the cost of the filters will be much more expensive if that is the case. Now that I am leaving the lid open between each fill-up of the container, I’m hoping that the counter will give me an accurate indication. Some people said that they judge by the amount of white residue in their jug to know it’s time to replace the filter, but living in Scotland with soft water, I won’t know based on that. Now that I understand a bit more about the various choices of filter cartridge, I’ll order more for the one month mark and just hope that this first one actually lasts for three months as it claims.

Great
Such a great sized jug, filters water as it should, gets rid of the smell that was in my tapwater and so much easier and eco friendlier than buying bottled water. I highly recommend it.

Looks good
Best filter jug I’ve ever had. Holds a good amount of water and looks great. Easy to fill with the top opening.

Superb filter jug and great value for money with 3 filters included
The third of these I’ve purchased because it is a fantastic product! I’ve bought many different filter jugs over the years and thought Brita were the best. However this is far superior, not only is it huge and takes less trips to the tap, the filter is fast, water tastes great and it’s easy to get your hand in to clean it. The scale that tells you when you need to replace the filter works on how many times you open the lid which ensures it only counts down when you actually use the jug. Highly recommend

Nice jug, shame about the clockwork dial
The jug looks and feels good quality, although mine arrived missing the flap that covers the spout. I could have lived without that, but the clockwork dial is quite flimsy. Despite setting it as per the instructions the only time it has budged from 100% in over 2 weeks of use was when I knocked it refilling the jug. I can't rely on it to warn me when I need to replace the cartridge which defeats the object a bit
