Wifi Smart Plug Compatible with Alexa, Mini Time Switch Wifi Outlet Socket Remote Control your Electronics from Smartphone or Tablet Anywhere, No Hub Required

This is my first smart home device. I only have one, but it’s worked well so far on a small scale and given me a good feel of what the future of smart home living can live up to.You'll notice how slim this is relative to my regular plug in the wall. (see the attached photos)Setup was straightforward, easy, and quick. I liked this because I dedicated smart hub was not required. I’m using this connected to both my Android LG G5 smartphone and my IOS IPad connected to their dedicated (Smart Life App). So long as you have a wifi router, a hub is not necessary.So far the experience has been pretty convenient just while using their app. The app has some smart features such as auto wake and sleep based on location, time of day and even weather. From googling this specific product, I learned that this app can actually be set to run with IFTT (if this than that), which if you don’t know already, is a power automation program that can help streamline frequent tasks, and ultimately make processes smarter. You would be able to make this smart plug much smarter by creating what’s called an Applet, that could, for example, allow you to say a phrase to Google Now that would trigger the device to turn on or off. For example “Ok, Google, turn on the bedroom lights”. Or “OK, Google, get freaky”. Literally, almost any phrase you want could be set up to control your device. If for example you had several of these plugs and their bulbs, just being able to speak a voice command would be so handy. It would be huge potential, if it could work. Unfortunatley I was unable to test its abilities first hand as either the IFTT app or the Home Life app developers caused an issue that prevents you from setting it up. I’m thinking it’s probably an issue from IFTT app and that it will probably be fixed soon.Even with just using the dedicated Home Life app, the experience has been good and worked as expected. I’ve primarily used it to control my bedroom lamp. There’s almost no delay between when I press on/off on the app.It would be cool to add more of these devices to my home and see how much automation can be done. I hope the IFTT implementation is fixed soon as well.I hope this helps.

I purchased three of these plugs along with my Echo dot(s) when first setting up my home automation, and love them. They are small enough to be used in an outlet without obstructing other plugs, and the small button on the side to operate them manually is easily reachable. From a value standpoint, they are the best value plugs out there if you want stand-alone wifi/Echo compatibility.My only (minor) disappointment with these plugs is that as I have expanded to more devices and a Wink hub, these plugs are not compatible. It's not a big issue as I have selected them on outlets I primarily use voice/Echo to interact and don't need linked together with other automations, and the wink-compatible plugs are so much more expensive.

The product works well. Setup is a little cumbersome like some others have said. The key is to install the application that they mention in the instructions. If you do this First then everything else falls into place pretty easily. You do need to let Alexa find the device AFTER its found through the app, and then it works well. You need to rename the plug in its own app in order to change the name that you use to activate it with Alexa. It works flawlessly with Alexa at home or through its own app when you are away from home. I wish it was dimmable rather than just on off, but it does do its purpose.

Update: 1 month later and using the second plug. I find this plug rather annoying. It often goes offline. Sometimes I just want a few mins and it goes back online on it's own. When that fails I just unplug it and plug it back in. I use this plug daily since I use Alexa to control my rooom light. Currently I am in bed and I can't turn off my life because Alexa says light isn't responding. The app on my phone that I use to sync the plug say that it's offline.Update: the company reached out to me after my negative rating and tried to make it right by sending me a new smart plug. So far everything is working fine.It was great when it was working. However it kept on going offline and I would have to sync it. 2 weeks in its offline forever! I tried to unplug it and sync. The syncing light wont blink anymore.

What started as a love affair (I bought a second one an hour after I hooked this up) has since turned.Thing keeps going offline and no it's not my internet . It also takes up an entire duplex outlet as you can't plug anything into the second one as there's no room and only by a small amount ......why didn't you try to make it just a little smallerAnyway , I reached out to customer service after a few days as it started annoying me and I never heard a thing back .Won't be buying any more of these

I received the smart plug and was a little taken back by the instructions to set up but in the end it was fairly easy and I use it with my Alexa. I have only had the unit about a month and I do enjoy the convenience of it using Alexa. I dont like I have to call it Smart socket as I want to call it smart plug but my Alexa doesnt recognize that. Maybe I need to learn more on Alexa?? I have not tried it with the app while away from the house but will try in the future. Nice device and would recommend

But one of these to try and it works so well I ordered for more. At first, the original one stopped working and then one by one the others stopped working as well. After unplugging and plugging again they start working again, but only to stop after one or two times of turning them on or off. I see now why they were so affordable!

I recently purchased an echo dot so that I could start using some of the smart home devices. This smart plug works well with Alexa and was very easy to set up. It's small in size and not bulky like a lot of the smart plugs. Why spend so much more on "name brand" smart plugs when this one works just as well?!? I will buy purchasing more of these!
