Q: Can you use this frame without the Matt background?

Funny you should ask. I asked the same question about a gold frame just last week. It wasn't from this shop, however. I was told that it has to have the black liner but that they could switch the black out for a gold liner instead if I preferred. From that answer, I gathered it had to have some sort of liner for the frame to be the size needed to fit the picture or in my case, painting. I suggest contacting Simon's Shop itself and ask them. Hope this helps you !
