Great hinges -- follow the directions for these hinges on the Woodcraft site
I used this for a walnut music box I made. Excellent hinges. Look nice and appear solid. There is a tutorial on the woodcraft website about how to install them. I would have had no idea how to do these without the tutorial; it's essential. I opted for just the primary mortise, rather than the doing a second slightly deeper mortise. Worked well and looks beautiful. I was concerned about the the climb cut (making the cut by running bit from left to right on the router table, rather than the usual right to left. It was a leap of faith, but there was absolutely no tear out or pulling, because the depth of cut is so small. It was cut into very hard walnut. I had no issues at all. Pay close attention to woodcraft directions. They recommend creating a spacer to use so the left and the right sides are perfect. I did that. It worked well, and I now have a spacer for next time I use these hinges. Make sure to account for the position of the router blades when you make your measurements, as the directions recommend. In summary, fantastic easy hinges that only took 10-15 minutes, but look very professional and neat. Read and follow the woodcraft instructions and you won't go wrong. And don't fear the climb cut!!

Has its problems.
Good price but hinges are a little loose at the connection point.

The only ones I will use
These are solid. For my jewelry box’s I will not use anything else. I make and sell heirloom box’s price range 250-500 so I want high quality. And these are truly top self. Great shine polished brass. Not brass coated. Con: they are a little pricey. Just a few dollars cheaper and it would be an easy pill to swallow.

Beautiful Hinges that Satisfy Particular Design Needs
You're supposed to think through the project before you start. I didn't and painted myself into a corner. I made a music box for my granddaughter. These were both hinges and, because they stopped at 90 (although it looked like 95 degrees,) they acted as lid supports as well. I thought I read someone else wanted longer screws, but the screws provided were perfect. My lid was only 1/2" thick. I could not have used a longer screw. Pilot hole of 5/64" worked fine. My lid was soft birds eye maple; the box was padauk. Hinges work great.

Almost good as Brusso or smartboxmaker but a little shorter
I liked the polish and the ease of installation using 8mm router bit. The only problem is the #2 screws that are included. #3 screws fit and you could drill out the holes for #4's There is no reason to use #2's they are too small. The company should ship them with #3's. The price is very good and the quality is high. One other nit is the fact that they only open to 90 degrees. They would be better if they opened to 95 or even 100 degreess, but at 1/3 Brusso's price they are a bargain.

Good value for this specific type of hinge
I'm a professional furniture maker. I've purchased several different types of box hinges over the years, from standard butt hinges to quadrant hinges to side mount hinges. This type of hinge is by far the best. It is quite elegant, shows very little on the back of the box and works very effectively to hold the lid of the box at 95 degrees. It skips the fussiness of installing a quadrant hinge and bypasses the amateur look of the butt hinge.Brusso makes excellent versions of these side mount hinges, but they are quite a bit more expensive. These hinges do the job but have several problems that seem easy to avoid with some moderate effort to make a better product, especially a product with the name, "HighPoint."First, the screws provided with the hinges are tiny. They are #2 and 1/2" long. They will pull out easily with any tension put on the lid especially if it needs to stop at the 95 degree point. The head of the tiny screw seats way inside the countersink drilled into the hinge top. It looks silly. The screw head should sit just a hair below the surface of the hinge surface like any screw and countersink should.Second, the knuckle does not make a smooth rotation but has one stutter stop point well before the correct stop point because it has not been machined quite right.Third, the polished brass look is a bit gaudy and overdone. But on the positive side, this type of hinge at this price point is quite reasonable. When installed it is a very unobtrusive and elegant hinge. It serves it purpose quite well by holding the box lid open at 95 degrees.I give it 3 stars because it doesn't make the grade but it has oh so much potential

Extremely Fussy to Install
They look nice. I spent way too much time sweating over getting these installed just right so they would work and not ruin my box project in the process. Hinges are about the last thing you do before the finishing process and these are too easy to screw up. I had to go online to find out how to install them and had to buy a 5/16" router bit. Going back to piano-style hinges until I find something better. Got 2 pairs so one is going back.

Not heavy duty.
They are decent. Only drilled for #2 screws. #4 wont fit without drilling out the holes in the hinges. Pretty light duty compared to the brusso version. The do look pretty though. The stops do work well. Would be good on smaller boxes. I make solid hardwood humidors with heavy lids and I hope they hold up, but I'll pay more for brusso next time. EDIT, upon further review it does say medium duty and #2 screws in description so I bumped them to 4 stars. Nice light duty hinge.
